Hey Brutal Buddha fans,
Hope your flexibility and mobility is holding up well!
It's been a month since our last update and have we been BUSY!
First off, we're super excited we're still on schedule as per our July update and we plan to ship your Brutal Buddha shorts on August 26th (only 3 weeks away!).
You'll be the first to see some photos of the actual manufacturing process in the coming 1-2 weeks as we'll be sharing them with you.
There's about 23 of you that still haven't filled out your backerkit survey to ensure you have the proper size, color short picked out and an updated address. Please check your spam folders for survey emails from backerkit, otherwise just reply to us and we'll get you sorted straight away.
And for everyone, if your shipping address has changed, please let us know asap so we can correct our address for you we have on file.
If you haven't already, check out brand new Shopify website here and let us know what you think! We only have 100 shorts left before our first batch of the minimum order from our factory is SOLD OUT so be sure to order any additional pairs for yourself, family or friends NOW!

Hey Brutal Buddha fans,
We hope you're keeping healthy and safe.
How's your flexibility and practice been coming along?
We have some major updates for you since our June update!
First off, we're thrilled to announce we've formally placed our factory order with a very reputable yoga & activewear factory.
We've been testing out their latest short samples ourselves the last 2 weeks and have had a large group of initial preorder customers test them out as well and provide candid feedback.
We're excited to announce that our Brutal Buddha fans LOVE THEM!!!
Not only have we finally nailed the most complex piece of the short - the Package Protector™ (remember, no other men's yoga short out there exists with this feature so we had to design and build it from scratch), but we've enhanced a few other features also:
-We've upgraded the premium 4-way stretch fabrics used in the outer layer of the short for a silky smooth / highly breathable feel (paying 3x more than our original fabric to get you something that we hope will blow you away!)
-We've upgraded the covered zipper on the back pocket to a more premium version
-We've upgraded the felt/stitching inside the custom jacquard elastic anti-slip waistband
-We've added some premium knotted drawstrings on the front of the shorts using no plastic or metal to ensure you feel great pressing on the mat in a cobra position
-We've put these shorts through the wash dozens of times and they're holding up perfectly
-We've worn these shorts in multiple yoga practices without washing them and there's no odor sticking around
In our last update, we informed you that once we place the order (which went through formally today) it will take approximately 35 days until we can manufacture and ship you your Brutal Buddha shorts.
We did get a bit of a curveball that due to a delay in the supplier for our custom jacquard elastic anti-slip waistbands, our shorts will now take an extra 20 days which means we're 55 days away from shipping you your Brutal Buddha shorts.
This means we plan to ship you your Brutal Buddha shorts on August 26th.

June Manufacturing Update

Hey Brutal Buddha fans,
We hope your body and mind are holding up ok!
Any plans to get active this weekend or hit a yoga practice?
As you can imagine, we've been very busy working with our factories to get you your Brutal Buddha shorts as soon as humanly possible given the continued Covid-19 delays.
We're thrilled to report back that we're in the very final weeks of receiving our 'Golden Copy' Brutal Buddha shorts samples from a highly reputable factory in the activewear space.
These Golden Copy samples are ultimately the final version of what you all would receive as the final product and our very first customers.
In fact, just earlier this week we were doing an outdoor yoga sequence wearing the the latest samples and we're excited to confirm that these shorts made our practice amazing.
We felt cool and were able to breath with ease on the mat.
The premium 4-way stretch fabrics allowed us to move in and out of poses effortlessly.
Our newly upgraded inner liner didn't bunch up and ensured nothing was revealed.
We felt fully supported and comfortable 'down there' throughout the practice thanks to our now 100% functional micro-mesh Package Protector™.
And it was awesome to have ample pocket space including a secure hidden covered zipper on the back pocket to carry all the essentials - wallet, keys and phone.
The very final steps before mass manufacturing and shipping to over 500 customers is selecting the final fabrics we'll use for the outer short layer.
We'll be making this final fabric selection with the help of a few dozen of our first customers that have volunteered to give us their feedback in the next few weeks.
Once this is done, we'll place the larger factory order which takes ~35 days to complete and ready the Brutal Buddha shorts for shipment.
Therefore, at this stage we plan to place this order by the third or fourth week of June. This means we are looking at an end July / early Aug shipment date to you all.

May Manufacturing Update

Hey Brutal Buddha fans,
We hope you had a great weekend and it's starting to warm up where you are (except for our friends in AU/NZ where it's starting to get chillier perhaps).
We hope you've been keeping healthy, getting regular home workouts in and of course, practicing lots of yoga!
Since our April update, we've been working tirelessly with our professional design team, factories and sourcing partners on the ground in China.
The good news is China seems to be getting closer to somewhat of a normality. One issue though that's evident is there are less staff working in our factories, so that continues to delay several of our deliverables. For example, we had one factory tell us it would take them 1 week to turnaround a short sample correction and it then took them 1 month..
So we are continuing to keep almost daily communication ongoing with our factories and focus on what's in our control.
Some further good news is we're getting very close to selecting & procuring a very high quality fabric at mass scale to use in our Brutal Buddha shorts. We've also just further finetuned our Package Protector™ design and we're excited to say we think it's truly revolutionary.
With hopefully just a few more weeks of back and forth with the factories, we'll be ready to place the large factory order and go into mass production for thousands of units to ship worldwide to our Kickstarter Backers and Backerkit Preorder customers. We're also starting to build out our full Shopify online store - stay tuned for more on this one!
We are still aiming for an end June shipment at this stage and if this changes, we'll surely let you all know as soon as we become aware.
We can't wait for you to try out your Brutal Buddha shorts soon and truly appreciate you bearing with us during this unprecedented pandemic..
Who would have thought we'd be launching our startup under these circumstances...
